Hearing the change in her voice, the sweet musical melody in her tone that wasn't there a moment before, Eli wants to make a comment on how cool that is, but he loses the ability to form words a second later, transfixed by Iris' next words to him. She asks him to put down his cookie, and he does immediately his hands moving somewhat on their own. But not completely, he still has control over himself, but doing what Iris asks becomes the most important thing in the world to him. Which is why he touches the tip of his nose with a grin.

"I would've declined this exercise if I'd known I wasn't gonna get to eat that cookie," he says, pouting for show.

Iris was born into one of the oldest siren families in Greece and inherited her mother's powers. Due to an unfortunate car accident when she was only 6, she was shuttled off to family who didn't know about her heritage. Between their emotional abuse and the trauma of the accident, she repressed all memories of having powers. At 25, she finally broke away from them, moving to Siren Cove.
